What made me to choose an Officine Meccaniche Toscane olive oil mill?

After processing my own production in several third parties mills, I no longer recognized myself in the olive oil produced, as it always looked like the others; this aspect tormented me, because I couldn't believe it was possible that whether the olives were green or ripe, the final product would be more or less the same.

The goal was to create aromas that would identify with the local area and even reflect the personality of the producer. Among the olive oil mills I dated, one had an Officine Meccaniche Toscane mill and I was more satisfied with it than the others.

In 2015 I made the decision to organize myself with a system that was suitable and proportional to my production, the complete plant Pegaso 250.

I decided not to mill for third parties so that I could freely choose the milling times and methods I wanted, without being pressured. Over the years, I've changed many aspects of the process, and this has been possible because this mill allows me to intervene manually and adjust the decanter according to the structure of the fruit; this step allows me to customize the product.

The quality of the materials and the superior mechanical engineering do the rest. Today, my products are consistently featured in the best Italian guides and have been recognized in many international competitions with top scores. But what matters most are the consumers who recognize the identity of the final oil, with the result that in 10 years I have quadrupled my sales. I am delighted with my choice and I thank OMT for their assistance with annual inspections and for their competent and passionate staff.

INITIAL SET-UP AND NEEDS

The customer had a clear need: to improve the quality of the final product and, above all, to strengthen its identity, making it distinctive on the market from a qualitative and organoleptic point of view.

Another requirement was to free themselves from third-parties mills, to become independent and manage the entire process, from harvesting to bottling.

THE PROJECT

We supported the strategy of freeing themselves from third-parties mills, allowing La Contarina to have a full control over every phase of its production process. This allows us to intervene and modify each step and to receive an immediate feedback of these changes on the final product.

We started from the customer's primary requirement, which was to produce an oil that identified the territory and its company and that was recognizable by its organoleptic features and not a uniform and "identical" product, homogeneous with many others.

The care on the raw materials, from the olives delivery to the extraction, and the ability to freely intervene on certain phases of the process, verifying their effect on the final product, have allowed the customer a full control of the process, freeing them from the dependence on external mills.

THE RESULTS

Thanks to the plant solution tailored to its needs by OMT, La Contarina was able to increase the value of the unique qualities of its product and its local area, achieving international recognition and increasing its turnover.
