What is the hopper elevator for in OMT systems?
The hopper elevator is the first processing unit of all OMT systems. It consists of a feed hopper and a feeding elevator fitted with a defoliation device. Its function is to receive the harvested olives and convey them to the washing unit, after removing leaves and light material.
How does the hopper elevator fit into the processing flow?
The typical sequence is hopper, elevator, washing machine, conveyor. The olives are received in the hopper, conveyed by the elevator with defoliator to the washing unit (hydropneumatic washing machine), and then another elevator or conveying system directs them to the crusher. It is a key initial stage for the quality of the final product.
Is the hopper elevator customisable?
Yes. The components of the hopper with elevator can be supplied in the standard version provided for each system series, or made to measure according to the customer's needs: dimensions, storage capacity, positioning layout and technical specifications.
Does the hopper elevator include defoliation?
Yes. The feeding elevator that is part of the unit is fitted with a defoliation device: while the olives are conveyed towards the washing machine, leaves and foliage are separated and removed. This improves the cleanliness of the olives before washing and reduces the impurities carried to the crusher.
In which OMT systems is the hopper elevator unit included?
All complete OMT systems (Pegaso 250, 500, 1000, 1500, Euro X2.0 EVOO, Euro X30) start their first processing stages with a feed hopper with feeding elevator and defoliation. It is a standard component of the process chain.
