A leaner and more sustainable continuous cycle

Over the last ten yearswe have
introduced three important innovations in the continuous cycle process, with the aim of bringing an increase in the quality of the final product and through our technological research:
– Removal of the final separator from our two-phases decanters
– Innovative modular crushing system
– Genesis modular crushing group
Below we report a focus on the first point and an in-depth look at our TBD Decanters.

Removal of the final vertical centrifugal separator even in the new two-phases decanter series

With our new Euro and Pegaso series decanters, we removed the final vertical extraction separators, achieving two clear advantages: a shortening of the process, both in economic terms and in terms of processing times; and a less heating and an increased polyphenol content in the final product, with an increased product shelf life.
 The EURO X2.0 EVOO horizontal axis centrifugal extractor is our new decanter, with an hourly capacity of approximately 2 tons of olive paste.
The truly innovative feature is that this decanter operates in two phases without the addition of mixing water, using an original extraction system that absolutely eliminates oil loss in the husk; this often occurs in similar systems. This system is an innovative production cycle created on OUR EXCLUSIVE ORIGINAL PROJECT and eliminates the vertical-axis centrifugal separator from the production cycle, with very important improvements in the quality of the olive oil produced. We have further sharpened the system by modifying the oily must extraction system. Thanks to these innovations, we have been able to improve extraction efficiency and to reduce the energy consumption.

TBD - Twin Bowl Decanter

Thanks to a special design of the screw and of the drum, the oily must proceed along the entire length of the drum, increasing the residence time of the olive paste inside the drum and recovering a greater quantity of high quality product. The absolute innovation is the clarification process the product undergoes inside the drum. The oily must enters a second drum located in the center; it proceeds in the opposite direction along the entire length of the drum; this completely eliminates mucilage and solids in suspension and guarantees a final extravirgin olive oil of the highest quality. With this new decanters, we provide olive oil producers with a truly innovative and flexible tool that will allow them to obtain a final product with superior organoleptic features; this is combined with a system ecology, which is a topical issue nowdays.Comparing EURO X2.0 EVOO with similar 3-phase decanters from a chemical point of view, we notice that the polyphenolic content tends to double and the peroxides level tends to halve, considering the same quantity of olives processed; this depends on the fact the decanter is able to process without adding water (increasing in polyphenolic content) and on the technical features of the decanter, equipped with a double drum, which operates in absence of oxygen during the processing phase (peroxide levels). The use of an INVERTER on the decanter main engine allows energy savings, in terms of power consumption during engine start. Finally, the two-phases system reduces water consumption, reducing water requirements to zero litres. With this technology, we provide olive oil producers with a truly innovative and flexible tool that will allow them to obtain a final product with superior organoleptic features; this is combined with a system ecology, which is a topical issue nowdays.
